Major Project Idea

  1. The topic of my project is going to be my family and loved ones.
  2. I will interview my sister, brother in law, and boyfriend, and best friends angel, aaliyah, and ariana
  3. My sister and brother in law and niece and boyfriend all interacting with one another and having a good time with each other. Also photos of my best friends chilling and having fun.
  4. I will research where i want to take my photos
  5. I will make a combination of photos of my family and friends together in about 4 slides
  6. I will use Animoto
  7. This is the best service because it does well at putting a creative twist on combining photos
  8. I will probably do this project within the next following weekends and i will probably take them at my sisters house and at my friend angels house.
  9. I will transfer my images to my computer as soon as i get them take and on my phone and hopefully at least a week before finals.

The 7 New Values of News

Human Interest:
This article matches the news value of human interest. I believe so because the story is about a toddler who was murdered by her own father and he didn't even show much care or concern for what he had done.

"Dad told police 'I'm at peace' after leaving tot to die"

http://www.usatoday.com/story/news/nation/2014/03/27/father-accused-of-killing-daughter/6948863/

Proximity:
This article is proximity because recently at South by South West in Austin Texas, there was a drunk driver crash into innocent bystanders. And it talks about a kid who just passed away from the event while he was in Austin.

"Teen is fourth person to die from SXSW crash injuries"

http://www.kvue.com/news/local/SXSW-crash-claims-fourth-life-252713251.html

Novelty:
This article shows novelty because its very unusual for a woman to go crazy and push her husband off a cliff to kill him and thats not something you hear everyday.
"Killer bride gets 30 years for pushing husband off cliff"
http://www.usatoday.com/story/news/nation/2014/03/27/newlywed-cliff-pushed-glacier-national-park-trial-sentencing/6952413/

Impact:
This article is impact because since the plane disappeared all their families and friends are left to wonder where they are and what happened to the plane as well as everybody reading about it.

"Malaysia jet disappearance no accident, investigator says"

http://www.usatoday.com/story/news/world/2014/03/26/malaysia-missing-plane/6907359/

Conflict:
This article is conflict because there is a dispute between north korea and obama with the "tested" missiles.

"Why North Korea test fired medium range missiles today"

http://www.globalpost.com/dispatch/news/regions/asia-pacific/north-korea/140326/why-north-korea-test-fired-medium-range-missil

Timeliness:
This article has timeliness because it was just posted today about an event that occurred yesterday of a mudslide in Washington

"Death toll in Washington mudslide hits 25"

http://www.foxnews.com/us/2014/03/31/death-toll-in-washington-mudslide-hits-21/?intcmp=latestnews

Prominence:
This article is an example of prominence because it displays a popular celebrity in our media today.

"Snooki Confirms She's Pregnant with Second Baby -- See Cute Family Photo Shoot!"

Intro to Newspaper Design

1. Colorado Daily, its my favorite newspaper front because the articles on it seem interesting and amusing.

2.
3. Boulder, Colorado.

4. "Drunken Pantless man quite the joyride" Im interested in it because i find this headline rather amusing and it makes me want to read the actual article.

5. 3 stories are on the front page.

6. The placement of the headline, and the main photo is usually larger than the rest.

7. The design of the pages, and the placement of the images on the front page
